Let’s see what words of wisdom has the Rap Guild shared with us.
The creation of a rap song is a beautiful experience. You get to express yourself emotionally with no limitations and the building of a song is something special. A lot of times rappers go straight to the pen and pad and begin writing. For me, I approach each song with freestyling.
I know it might sound hard but the more you do it the better you will become. You should be able to get to a point where you freestyle at least to find your natural flow and rhythm. Once I have achieved that then I can punch back in and change the lyrics into something more interesting, but there have been times where my freestyles are just as good as anything I’ve written. You can’t be scared or discouraged if it doesn’t work out right away. Just keep practicing, believe in yourself and stay positive. I also try to add melodies into my verses because it can connect with more and more people. Naturally I’ve been able to just come up with them but with practice you will be able to come up with great melodies!

Be prepared to work through trying times and don’t get discouraged when doors close or people tell you no. Stay true to your vision.
Learn what made hip hop successful and learn what will continue to keep it successful. I would attribute most of my improvement to long nights and trial and error. Don’t be afraid to try, don’t be afraid to be yourself! #OhioToTheBone #1PMDream
